Dear friend,
Thank you for the attention you give and concerns for the flood in Jakarta. Water has decreased in most areas. From 200,000 displaced persons (refugee), 75% has returned home as reported by UN-OCHA yesterday, while 57,000 persons are still in 57 shelter sites.

HOPE worldwide Indonesia has finished the evacuation procedures since Last Tuesday. With support of volunteers ,our 10 distribution teams has distributed:
* 1,000kg rice,
* 3,000 ready-to-eat meals (mostly donated by McDonald's),
* 2,000 litter bottled water,
* 1,500 instant noodles,
* 1,000 First Aid Kit (paracetamol, vitamins, cough syrup, ibuprofen,
antacids/promag, iron tablets/sangobion, betadine, bandages, gauze/kasa,
and ORS / Oralit)
* 20 boxes clothes (100 people)
* 1,000 latex glozes (for house cleaning)
After yesterday's assessment, we plan to:
1. Continue mobile clinic in slum areas where it's impacted
- started last week
2. Distribute 1,000 housecleaning kits (sapu, ember, dll)
- waiting from donor approval
3. Distribute water for house cleaning
- waiting for bladder tank coming
4. Distribute 2,000kg food and medicines
Tomorrow is Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year is on Sunday. There's no better time to share our love than to the people who are in need. They do not need chocolate, flowers, or candies, but basic needs to keep them healthy and food to fill their empty stomach. Funding to support mobile clinic operations & truck rental for water distribution is highly needed at this point for the victims.
One fear that is here is the outbreak of Diarrhea or Cholera disease due to the germs the flood water brought. If this is to take place, the city of Jakarta will need to be isolated by land, air and sea until the outbreak has been controlled. Please help us to prevent it from happening.
Your financial gifts are urgently needed to help secure these items. Please support the HOPE worldwide Indonesia team as they meet the most critical needs.
